Lowensteins 2017 prizes for tertiary visual art students

Last year Lowensteins inaugurated prizes for tertiary visual art students.

As part of our continued commitment to the arts, Lowensteins continues to show its support to the tertiary sector by awarding a prize to outstanding visual art graduates, as selected by their teaching staff.

We are happy to announce that this year's prize winners are: Katherine Botten of Monash University, Faculty of Arts and Design, announced on the 28 November 2017; and Olga Bennett (whose work is featured below) of the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, announced on the 21 November 2017.

We are also awarding prizes to graduates at RMIT and Deakin University. However, at the time of going to press no winner has been announced.

The prizes are given to the outstanding graduate for the final year of the Bachelor degree. It includes a cash prize, a tour of our collection and a free consultation for each of the winners to discuss the business and tax aspects of their professional artist practice.

Lowensteins see these prizes as an important contribution to the arts and so next year we hope to be able to offer these prizes in other states.
